Edo Bingata is a stencil dyeing technique that originated from Okinawa's “Bingata” and developed uniquely in Edo to suit Japanese kimono culture. While rooted in Okinawan Bingata, it also incorporates influences from traditional dyeing techniques cultivated in Edo. Edo bingata is dyed using Edo stencil dyeing techniques and is characterized by its subdued, elegant hues.
